❓ Frequently Asked Questions
How does StepsHero count my steps?
StepsHero uses your phone's built-in motion sensors (accelerometer and gyroscope) to detect your walking motion. Keep your phone with you while walking for accurate tracking.
What are the different characters and how do I unlock them?
Characters represent your daily step ranges: Sloth (0-3k), Zombie (3k-6k), Cheetah (6k-10k), Centipede (10k+). Your character changes based on your daily performance!
How do streaks work?
A streak counts consecutive days you achieve your daily step goal. If you miss a day, your streak resets to zero. Keep walking daily to maintain your streak!
What medals and achievements can I earn?
You can earn medals for daily goals (10k steps), weekly challenges (7-day streak), monthly milestones (100k steps/month), and special achievements. Check the Achievements tab to see all available medals!
Can I share my achievements?
Yes! Tap any medal in your Achievements section to take a screenshot and share it on social media to show off your progress.
Does StepsHero work with Apple Watch or other fitness trackers?
Currently, StepsHero includes a simple Watch app for quick step viewing. Full smartwatch integration is planned for future updates.
Why are my calories/distance calculations different from other apps?
StepsHero calculates calories and distance based on your personal weight, height, and step length. Results may vary from other apps due to different calculation methods.
🔧 Troubleshooting
Steps Not Counting
- Make sure StepsHero has permission to access motion data in your phone's Privacy/Permissions settings

- Restart the app and check if steps sync
- If using iPhone, check that "Fitness Tracking" is enabled in Settings > Privacy & Security > Motion & Fitness
Streak Lost Incorrectly
- Check your Statistics page to verify which day the goal was missed
- Remember that streaks reset at midnight in your local timezone
- Ensure your phone's date and time are set correctly
- Contact support if you believe your streak was lost incorrectly
App Crashes or Performance Issues
- Update to the latest version of StepsHero from the App Store/Google Play
- Restart your phone to free up memory
